In 2019, the team at Genius Books & Media went to CrimeCon in New Orleans to sell books and meet other people in the true crime world. One night at dinner, we walked up to a group of attendees and asked, “How do you like to enjoy your true crime stories? Print, audio, or video?” The answer was clear. Most people said they preferred audio and video. What about print? “No thanks,” they told us. “Not really into print.”
That wasn’t what we wanted to hear—we were focused almost entirely on print, and we didn’t have the tools or experience to make audio or video at the time. That was six years ago. It’s taken us this long to get ready, but now we’re here, and we’re ready to launch.
Today, we can make audiobooks and podcasts just as easily as we’ve been making print books for the past 15 years. That’s a big step for us—and even better news for our readers (and now, listeners).
Want to read our books or ebooks? Great—we’ve got a big catalog ready to go.
Want to listen to audiobooks for free? We’ve got that too.
Want to read the books online instead of buying them first? No problem—you can do that here.
Genius Unbound is our way of Going Beyond the Page. However you like to enjoy stories—by reading, listening, or following along online—we’re here for it. We’re not going to tell you how to enjoy a story anymore. That choice is yours.
It’s open. It’s flexible. It’s Unbound.
Genius Unbound.
